Works for any currency. Two discounts are applied one after the other, which is how shops do it: 20% then 10% is 28% off, not 30%.

Doing it in your head
To take 25% off, multiply the price by 0.75. For 30% off, multiply by 0.70. A quick route to 15% is to find 10% (move the decimal point), halve it for 5%, and add the two.
Questions about the Discount Calculator
Is 20% off plus 10% off the same as 30% off?
No. The second discount applies to the already reduced price, giving 28% off in total.
Is tax added before or after the discount?
Here, tax is applied to the discounted price, which is the usual practice for shop promotions.
