HEIC to JPG Converter
iPhones save photos as HEIC, which many Windows PCs, websites and older apps cannot open. Convert them to JPG or PNG here without sending your photos anywhere.
Runs in your browser. What you enter here is not sent to our server.
How to convert HEIC to JPG
- Choose your .heic or .heif photos, or drop them on the box.
- Pick JPG for the smallest, most compatible files, or PNG for lossless output.
- Wait for each photo to finish. HEIC decoding is heavy, so allow a few seconds per photo.
- Download the converted pictures.
What is HEIC?
HEIC is the file type Apple devices use for the HEIF image format. It stores photos at roughly half the size of a comparable JPG, which is why it became the iPhone default. The trade-off is compatibility: plenty of software still expects JPG.
To make an iPhone take JPG photos in future, open Settings, then Camera, then Formats, and choose “Most Compatible”.
Questions about the HEIC to JPG Converter
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The converter code is downloaded once and then runs on your device. Your photos stay in your browser.
Is location data kept in the converted photo?
No. The conversion writes a new image from the pixels only, so metadata such as location and camera details is not carried over.
Why is conversion slower than other image tools?
Browsers cannot read HEIC natively, so the photo is decoded by a library running inside the page. Large photos can take several seconds each.
Does it handle Live Photos?
It converts the still image. The video part of a Live Photo is a separate file and is not included.
