Split PDF

Pull the pages you need out of a PDF, cut it into several files, split it into single pages, or delete pages you do not want. The file is processed on your device.

Runs in your browser. What you enter here is not sent to our server.

How to split a PDF

  1. Choose your PDF. The page count appears once it has loaded.
  2. Pick what to do: extract pages into one new file, save each range as its own file, split into single pages, or delete pages.
  3. Type the pages, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10. Ranges use a hyphen and are separated by commas.
  4. Select “Split PDF”. The new file or files download straight away.

Which option should I use?

  • Extract: you need only part of a document, such as one chapter or a signed page.
  • Each range as its own PDF: you want to cut one file into sections, for example 1-10, 11-25, 26-40.
  • Single pages: every page becomes a separate file. Your browser may ask for permission to download multiple files.
  • Delete: remove blank or unwanted pages and keep the rest in order.

Pages are copied without re-compression, so quality is unchanged. To put pages back together in a new order, use Merge PDF.

Questions about the Split PDF

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The file is read and split inside your browser. It is not sent to our server.

Why did only one file download when I expected several?

Browsers block multiple automatic downloads until you allow them. Look for a prompt near the address bar and choose Allow.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Not until the protection is removed. Open it with its password in a PDF reader and save an unprotected copy first.
