How to use the Add Page Numbers to PDF
- Choose your PDF.
- Pick a position and a style.
- If the document has a cover or contents page, open More settings and set how many pages to leave blank at the start.
- Select Add numbers and download.
Numbering after a cover page
Formal documents usually leave the title page unnumbered and start the body at 1. Set “Pages to leave blank at the start” to the number of front pages and keep “First number” at 1. To continue numbering from an earlier document, set “First number” to the next number in the sequence instead.
Questions about the Add Page Numbers to PDF
Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?
Yes. Open More settings and change “First number”.
The numbers overlap my footer. What can I do?
Move them to another corner, or change “Distance from the edge” under More settings so they sit above or below the existing text.
