How to use the Binary, Hex and Decimal Converter

  1. Type a number into the box for the base you have.
  2. Read the other bases, which update as you type.

How the bases relate

Decimal uses ten digits, binary two, octal eight and hexadecimal sixteen (0 to 9, then A to F). One hexadecimal digit stands for exactly four binary digits, which is why hex is the usual shorthand for bytes: FF is 11111111, or 255.
