UUID Generator
Create up to 500 UUIDs at once using your browser’s cryptographic random number generator. Choose version 4 or the newer, sortable version 7.

v4 or v7?
Version 4 UUIDs are almost entirely random. They are the most widely supported and the right default for most uses.
Version 7 UUIDs start with a timestamp in milliseconds followed by random bits, so newer IDs sort after older ones. That ordering helps database indexes stay compact, which makes v7 a good choice for primary keys. The trade-off is that the creation time can be read from the ID.
UUIDs and GUIDs are the same thing; GUID is the name Microsoft uses.
Questions about the UUID Generator
Can two generated UUIDs ever be the same?
In theory yes, in practice no. A v4 UUID has 122 random bits, so the chance of a collision is negligible even across billions of IDs.
Are these suitable as secret tokens?
They are generated with a cryptographically secure random source, but UUIDs are designed as identifiers, not secrets. For session tokens or API keys, use a purpose-built generator with more random bits.
