Which shape should I pick?
| Shape | Typical use |
|---|---|
| 1:1 | Profile pictures, product thumbnails |
| 4:5 | Portrait posts in social feeds |
| 16:9 | Video thumbnails, presentation slides, website banners |
| 9:16 | Stories and vertical video covers |
| 3:2 and 4:3 | Standard photo prints and camera shapes |
Cropping keeps the original pixels inside the box, so the result is as sharp as the source. To reach an exact pixel size afterwards, use the Image Resizer.
Questions about the Image Cropper
Does cropping reduce quality?
The area you keep is not scaled, so detail is preserved. JPG and WebP files are saved again at high quality, which is visually identical in normal use; PNG files are saved without any loss.
Can I crop to exact pixel dimensions?
Choose the shape here, download, then set the exact width and height in the Image Resizer. The selected size in pixels is shown under the picture while you drag.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The picture is opened and cropped by your browser on your own device.
