How to use the Find and Replace Text

  1. Paste your text.
  2. Type what to find and what to replace it with. Leave the second box empty to delete matches.
  3. Check the count of replacements, then copy the result.

Avoiding accidental replacements

Replacing “cat” also changes “category” unless you tick Whole words only. If capitals matter, for example changing “May” the month but not “may” the verb, tick Match upper and lower case exactly. With regular expressions switched on you can reuse captured groups in the replacement as $1, $2 and so on.

Questions about the Find and Replace Text

Is there a limit on the amount of text?

No fixed limit. Very large texts, of several megabytes, may take a moment on slower devices.

How do I delete a word everywhere?

Type it in Find and leave “Replace with” empty.
